Hamzaban is a free AI language tutor built around Hamzi, a friendly practice buddy. You can call him or chat with him, play real-life roleplays, take smart lessons with 9 exercise types, read and listen to stories, and review your words. Hamzaban remembers your mistakes, keeps them in a notebook with short explanations, and builds each lesson around what you actually need, from A1 to C2.

Hamzaban has courses between 11 languages: English, Persian, Arabic, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Turkish, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. It is built first for Persian speakers learning English. Voice calls with Hamzi are fully supported in English; calls in Spanish, French, German, Italian and Japanese are experimental, and the other languages don't have calls yet. The AI writes exercises natively in your target language, so they read naturally, not translated.

Yes, for now. Hamzaban stays free until further notice, so use it with peace of mind. Calls, chats, lessons, roleplays, stories, the mistakes notebook and the grammar handbook are all included, with no ads. We may add a paid subscription in the future; if we do, we will tell you before it happens.

You start by telling Hamzaban how much you already know, and you can take a short level check whenever you like. It's optional, never locks your course, and you can retake it any time. From then on the tutor tracks every answer and builds a memory of your strengths and gaps. It schedules reviews with spaced repetition (FSRS), builds lessons around your weak spots and adjusts the difficulty as you improve. Today's plan can suggest a mix for the day, but it's never required.

You can call or chat with Hamzi; take smart lessons with 9 exercise types (translation, fill-in-the-blank, multiple choice, error correction, sentence reordering, matching, sentence completion, dictation and speaking); play 18 real-life roleplays or make your own; read and listen to stories across 10 genres; review your words; practice from your mistakes notebook; drill tricky sounds; and study with the grammar handbook.

Roleplays put you in real situations like checking into a hotel, visiting a doctor or a job interview. The characters answer naturally and correct you gently along the way. Choose from 18 ready-made scenarios or describe your own, and play by text or by voice. Stories are written at your level across 10 genres, to read or to listen to. Tap any word to see what it means in that sentence and save it to your words.

Use Hamzaban in any modern browser on your phone or computer, or install the Android app from Cafe Bazaar. iOS isn't out yet; you can join the waitlist on this page. Your progress syncs across devices. The app has light and dark themes, and in Persian it shows Persian digits and Jalali dates.

Tap Call Hamzi and talk out loud about your day, travel, work or anything else, with live captions as you go. Hamzi doesn't stop you to correct you: after the call, a call report shows his notes and your new words, and the corrections go into your mistakes notebook. You can also play roleplays by voice, answer speaking exercises, and drill the sounds Persian speakers find tricky. Calls are fully supported in English; Spanish, French, German, Italian and Japanese are experimental.

You earn XP for everything you practice, and you can set a daily goal and reminders at your own time. Your streak has freezes for busy days, and if it breaks, practicing again within 48 hours can bring it back. Each week (Saturday to Friday, Tehran time) you compete in a league from Bronze to Master, finish daily quests, unlock achievements and practice alongside friends.

Yes. Hamzaban covers CEFR levels A1 to C2 and builds your speaking, listening, reading and vocabulary. Voice calls with Hamzi and the roleplays are especially good practice for the IELTS speaking section.

Duolingo gives everyone the same pre-made lessons. Hamzaban builds each lesson around your own weak spots, lets you talk with Hamzi by voice call or chat, keeps your mistakes in a notebook with short explanations, and offers real-life roleplays. It is free, with no ads.

Yes. Arabic is one of Hamzaban's 11 languages, with lessons, chats, roleplays and stories at your level. Voice calls aren't available for Arabic yet.

Through dictation exercises, listening stories at your level, voice calls with Hamzi and roleplays by voice. Word review also has listen-and-choose cards. The AI matches the difficulty to your level.

No. Hamzaban needs an internet connection, because your exercises, roleplays, stories, and feedback are generated by AI as you practice, and your progress is saved to your account.

Just tell Hamzaban you're starting from zero and you begin at A1, with basic words and simple sentences. The difficulty grows with you, and every lesson adapts to your pace. A level check is optional, and no prior knowledge is needed.

Yes. Hamzaban's lessons go up to C2. Voice calls, roleplays, listening stories and reading practice help build the skills the TOEFL tests.

Hamzaban works like a personal tutor, with no classroom, fixed schedule or tuition. Practice whenever you want: Hamzi corrects your mistakes, explains them and tracks your progress over time.

Yes. Duolingo has no Persian-to-English course, while Hamzaban is built for Persian speakers from the ground up: a Persian interface with Persian digits and dates, explanations of your mistakes in Persian, and pronunciation drills for the sounds Persian speakers find hardest.

Yes. Delete your account any time in the app (the Me tab, then Delete account) or on our website at hamzaban.xyz/account/delete. Your profile, courses, progress, mistakes, conversations and voice practice are removed for good. Our privacy policy explains what we collect and why.
